Chapman House – GU27

In 2022, Blockade was commissioned to carry out a total internal strip-out of Chapman House, a two-storey office complex in Haslemere, Surrey. The project aimed to prepare the building to transform into residential flats, necessitating a comprehensive approach to dismantling the existing interior structures.

The project’s initial phase focused on asbestos removal, a critical step to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Blockade’s experienced team managed this process meticulously, adhering to industry standards to eliminate any potential hazards associated with the hazardous material.

Once the asbestos was safely removed, Blockade proceeded with an entire soft interior strip. This phase involved carefully dismantling non-structural elements, including eliminating all windows, fixtures, and fittings. The goal was to clear and prepare the space for the new residential layout.

Additionally, the project required breaking out of the concrete stairwell, which involved using specialised equipment to ensure the process was carried out safely and efficiently. Following this, the floor screed was removed to ensure a clean base for the upcoming construction activities.

By the end of the project, Blockade had successfully stripped Chapman House down to its core, paving the way for its redevelopment into residential flats. The project exemplified Blockade's commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship, ensuring the building was ready for its next chapter while meeting all regulatory requirements. This transformation project underscores Blockade's expertise in managing complex internal strip-outs and delivering high-quality results in preparation for future developments.
