Cranleigh Brick Works – GU6
In 2017, Blockade was tasked with deconstructing a large 5,000 m² steel-framed factory at Cranleigh Brick Works in Surrey. The project required a strategic approach to safely dismantle the factory structure, remove all brick-making machinery, and clear the site for future use.
The project began with the deconstruction of the expansive steel-framed building. Given its size and complexity, Blockade’s experienced team employed precision techniques to carefully dismantle the steel framework, ensuring the safety of workers and the surrounding environment throughout the process.
Once the steel structure was removed, Blockade demolished the factory’s brick-making machinery. This phase involved the safe dismantling and removal of heavy industrial equipment, a crucial part of preparing the site for its next development phase.
The final stage of the project involved removing the factory’s slab foundation. Using advanced demolition techniques, Blockade ensured the slab was entirely removed, leaving the site cleared and ready for future redevelopment.
The Cranleigh Brick Works project showcased Blockade's expertise in large-scale industrial deconstruction, focusing on safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Through carefully handling the steel frame, machinery, and slab removal, Blockade successfully prepared the site for its next chapter, demonstrating its ability to manage complex demolition projects from start to finish.
