In 2020, Blockade undertook a comprehensive demolition project at Furgrove Parade in Farnborough. This project included removing asbestos from all residential flats and stripping out both flats and shops. This multi-phase project was essential for preparing the site for future redevelopment.
The project began with the critical task of asbestos removal throughout the residential flats. Blockade’s experienced team executed this phase with the utmost care, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Following industry best practices effectively mitigated potential hazards, providing a safe environment for workers and future occupants.
Following the successful asbestos removal, Blockade moved on to the total strip-out of all flats and shops within the parade. This process involved carefully dismantling non-structural elements, including fixtures, fittings, and other interior components, clearing the space for new developments.
Once the strip-out was completed, the next phase focused on demolishing the remaining structures, including removing all slabs and footings. This stage was carried out systematically, ensuring that the site was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for future construction.

The project concluded with crushing all arisings, allowing the materials to be repurposed and recycled for use in upcoming developments. This sustainable approach minimised waste and contributed to the project’s overall efficiency.
