In 2022, Blockade was engaged in a significant fly tip clearance project at Willet Road in Thornton Heath, Croydon. This extensive operation involved removing hundreds of tonnes of mixed waste from a factory site, necessitating careful planning and execution to restore the area effectively.
The project commenced with a thorough site assessment, where Blockade’s team identified the various types of waste present. The clearance operation involved the separation of all waste into designated waste streams, a crucial step in ensuring proper disposal and recycling. Blockade’s experienced crew worked diligently to categorise the materials, adhering to environmental regulations and best practices for waste management.
Following the separation process, Blockade cleared all buildings and yard areas associated with the factory. This phase required meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all factory remnants, including debris and hazardous materials, were removed safely and efficiently. The team employed specialised equipment to handle the large volumes of waste, ensuring that the operation was completed promptly while maintaining a focus on safety.
Blockade prioritised environmental responsibility throughout the project by implementing sustainable waste disposal practices. The team reduced the clearance operation’s overall ecological impact by effectively sorting and recycling materials.
By the end of the project, Blockade had successfully cleared the fly-tipped waste from Willet Road, transforming the site into a clean and safe environment.
